JSC “Ferteksos Transportas” has been providing the forwarding services on the international transport market since 1994. Million tons of different kinds of cargoes were handled and delivered by JSC “Ferteksos Transportas” to most countries around the world since that time. JSC “Ferteksos Transportas” is among the leading Lithuanian forwarding companies in respect of the volumes of cargoes serviced at the Port of Klaipeda (this indicator reaches 2 million tons approximately annually).
Information on liability insurance
JSC “Ferteksos transportas” offers its customers two approaches of cargo transportation insurance.
The first approach — compulsory standard insurance which is carried out by subcontractors on the basis of freight forwarding agreements — the third party takes responsibility for insurance. Cargoes carried by road transport are considered to be insured by direct carriers in accordance with TIR and CMR conventions. Cargoes carried by rail should be insured by Railway Administration in conformance with SMGS convention and conditions of insurance. Stevedoring company’s liability insurance for safety and quality of cargoes handled and stored at BKT terminal is carried out by stevedoring company. Liability insurance of a sea carrier for shipped cargo is carried out in accordance with the requirements of the Classification Register of a specific tonnage.
The second approach — implies insurance of carried cargoes which is implemented by forwarder on customers’ demand, under agreements with insurance companies on a specific carriage.
