Dry Bulk Terminal Company (BKT terminal) was established in 1997 to become a specialized terminal to tranship bulk cargoes, especially mineral fertilizers. It operates in the ice-free Port of Klaipeda which is the most convenient and suitable Baltic port for transhipment of fertilizers to almost all countries in the world.
Cargo accumulation and warehousing
BKT terminal offers services involving cargo accumulation and warehousing under cover warehouses and at open storage areas.
The warehousing facilities include five covered hipped-roof warehouses of arched type with a total capacity up to 100000 tonnes of homogeneous cargo. The warehouses are used for accumulation and storage of dry bulk mineral fertilizers. When necessary there is a possibility to arrange a simultaneous storage of two or even more different kinds of cargo.
General packed cargoes are stored at open yards of almost 5000 sq. m. in total area. At present the yards are used for accumulation and storage of fertilizers packed into big bags ready for loading onto vessels. packing of fertilizers is performed within terminal by using own filling facilities.
