
Dry Bulk Terminal Company (BKT terminal) was established in 1997 to become a specialized terminal to tranship bulk cargoes, especially mineral fertilizers. It operates in the ice-free Port of Klaipeda which is the most convenient and suitable Baltic port for transhipment of fertilizers to almost all countries in the world.

Technical facilities
The terminal occupies50000 sq. metres in area and operates berths No 101-104 of the Klaipeda Sea Port. The warehousing facilities are situated adjacent to the berths and include five covered hipped-roof warehouses of arched type with a total capacity up to 100000 tonnes of uniform mineral fertilizers.
Two railcars discharge junctions are provided capable to handle (discharge) four railroad wagons at a time with total discharge rate of 450 wagons per day.
The terminal is capable to load two cargo vessels at a time by using own shore-based loading equipment with capacity of 750 and 1200 tonnes per hour of dry bulk cargo.
The total length of terminal berth line is 423 meters with 13 metres water depth at berth allowing handling vessels with maximum draught up to 11.5 metres.
